SYMPTOMS

When you create a Microsoft Works Word Processor document that contains a large number of JPEG files, and you try to copy and paste, or drag, the entire document in Works Portfolio, Works Word Processor may stop responding (hang).

CAUSE

This problem may occur if the document size is too large. The maximum size of a Works Word Processor document that can be successfully copied and pasted can vary, depending on the types of objects contained in the document.

Note Works Word Processor typically starts responding again after several minutes, but the pasting action is not completed. It may occasionally take up to 15 minutes for Works Word Processor to start responding again.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, do not copy and paste the entire document with one procedure. Copy and paste individual objects into Works Portfolio instead.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
