OL97: "Messages in Inbox" Message When You Use Resource Accounts for Conference Rooms (265373)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Resource Accounts for conference rooms, delegates may receive the following message even though they cannot read or find the message:

Messages in Inbox

CAUSE

This problem may be caused by a backlog of unanswered reminders that are generated for appointments, and the Default Reminders feature may be enabled for this account.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, log on to the mailbox as the Resource Account owner, click Options on the Tools menu, and then click to clear the Default Reminders check box in the Calendar section.

WORKAROUND

To temporarily work around this problem, you can dismiss the expired reminders if you use the /cleanreminders command-line switch when you start Outlook. For additional information about command-line switches, click the article number below to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:
