SYMPTOMS

When you use a Canon CanoScan 600 scanner with Canon's ScanCraft CS version 3.2 software suite, you may receive the following error message:
Photodrw has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL. Photodrw will now close.

CAUSE

The Canon TWAIN drivers version 3.2 and earlier are not compatible with the TWAIN 1.7 standard from the TWAIN Working Group used by Microsoft Windows Millennium. The scanner still works with its own software but does not work with any TWAIN applications.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, contact the manufacturer for the latest device drivers.
