FP2000: Unwanted Extra Space Appears Beneath Forms Inserted in FrontPage Tables (265212)

When you insert a form in a table in FrontPage 2000, there is an extra space beneath the form. You cannot see the space in Normal view, but you can see it in Preview. You cannot remove the space by editing the HTML file.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs if you first create the table and then insert the form into a cell within the table.
RESOLUTION
You can avoid the unwanted extra space by creating the form first, then inserting the table into the form area, and then relocating the form elements within the table.
To create a form in a table without extra space, follow these steps:
- Start Microsoft FrontPage and on the Insert menu, point to Form, and then click One-line text box.
- Press HOME. On the Table menu, point to Insert, and then click Table.
- Click OK to insert a table of two rows by two columns.
- Drag the text box, Submit button, and Cancel buttons to positions inside the top left cell of the table.
- Press the DOWN ARROW until the insertion point appears beneath the table but still within the form outline (broken line, and then press DELETE.
- Click the Preview tab, and notice that the table retains its appearance from the Normal tab.
