Umax Astra 1600U Scanner Is Identified As a Umax Astra 2100U Scanner (264981)

SYMPTOMS

When you install a Umax Astra 1600U scanner, Plug and Play detects new hardware and installs the Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) device driver for the scanner. The scanner works properly, but is identified as a Umax Astra 2100U scanner.

CAUSE

Umax Astra 1600U and Umax Astra 2100U scanners have the same Plug and Play identification and use the same WIA device driver.

MORE INFORMATION

Plug and Play detects the device, queries the device properties, and installs the device driver based on the Plug and Play identification returned by the scanner. The driver name does not match the model number, but the device is using the correct device driver.
