XL97: Format Painter and Date Watch Wizard Cause Excel to Stop Responding (264854)

SYMPTOMS

When you double-click the Format Painter button on the Standard toolbar, and then click another cell, Excel appears to stop responding and you receive the following two error messages:
DateMigration
Run-time error 28
Out of Stack Space.

-and-

DateMigration
Run-time error '1004'
Unable to get the HasFormula property of the Range class.
If you open the Task Manager or the Close Program dialog box (press CTRL+ALT+DEL), Excel appears to be running. If you click End Task to quit Excel, any changes to the currently open workbooks are lost.

CAUSE

This problem occurs if the Date Watch Add-In is enabled.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, hold down ESC. Excel may reappear after a while.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
