Universal Serial Bus IntelliMouse "Back" Button Goes Back Two Pages (264588)

This issue can occur when you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer and Windows Millennium Edition (Me), and you are using a Universal Serial Bus (USB) mouse. When you press the left button on a Microsoft IntelliMouse Optical and Web once (or the large thumb button on the IntelliMouse Explorer), Internet Explorer goes back two Web pages when it should go back just one page.
CAUSE
This issue can be caused by installing or using an older version of Microsoft IntelliPoint software, or by selecting the incorrect mouse when first installing the Microsoft IntelliPoint software.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, follow these steps: - Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
- In Control Panel, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- Click the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft IntelliPoint, and then click the Add/Remove button.
- When prompted, restart the computer.
- Reinstall the IntelliPoint software and choose the correct mouse.
