Jetpack Fails with Error 1032 (264515)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Jetpack utility to compact a Windows Internet Naming Service (WINS) or Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) database, you may receive the following error message:
Jetpack failed with error = -1032
In the Application Event log, you may also see the following event:

For Microsoft Windows 2000:

Event ID: 427
Source: ESENT
Type: Error
Description: jetpack [number] The database engine could not access the file called driver:\%systemroot%\System32\wins|Dhcp\J50.log.

For Microsoft Windows NT:
-----------------
Event ID: 48
Source: JET
Type: Error
Description: [[number] The database engine could not access the file called .\J50.log.

CAUSE

The WINS or DHCP service is not stopped before you attempt to use the Jetpack utility.

RESOLUTION

Stop the WINS or DHCP service either in Service under Control Panel or by using the net stop service command from the command line, where service is WINS or DHCP respectively.
