This article was previously published under Q263999

SYMPTOMS

When you use Outlook and attempt to forward a fax, you may receive an "undeliverable" error message from the system administrator.

-or-

You may receive an error message that Outlook cannot schedule the fax for delivery.

WORKAROUND

To work around this problem, use one of the following methods:

Method 1

Print the fax message to the Microsoft Fax printer. This creates a new fax message that contains the original information. To print to the Fax printer:
  1. In Outlook, open the fax message.
  2. On the File menu, click Print to open the Print dialog box.
  3. In the Name box, click Microsoft Fax, and then click OK.
  4. Follow the instructions in the Compose New Fax Wizard to send a new fax, and then click Finish.

Method 2

  1. In Outlook, open the fax message.
  2. Select the contents of the fax (CTRL+A), and then click Copy on the Edit menu.
  3. On the File menu, click Close.
  4. On the File menu, point to New, and then click Mail Message.
  5. In the To box, type the address for the recipient. If you are sending to a fax recipient use the following format:

    [FAX: +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx]

  6. Type a subject in the Subject box.
  7. Click somewhere in the body of the message, click Paste on the Edit menu, and then click Send.
