PUB2000 Error Message: The Sheet Size You're Printing to Is too Small for Some of Your Printer's Marks to Print (263977)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Publisher 2000

This article was previously published under Q263977

SYMPTOMS

When you prepare a Microsoft Publisher 2000 publication for commercial printing by using CMYK colorspace, you may receive the following error message:
The sheet size you're printing to is too small for some of your printer's marks to print. If you're printing to film or creating a PostScript file, choose a larger sheet size.

If you choose a larger sheet size, you receive the error message again.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you use the Special Fold option for your publication.

Special fold publications are automatically imposed into a signature. As a result, the publication is no longer two separate pages. The space that is usually set aside to print the printer marks for each page is removed by the imposition process.

The error message is generated when Publisher 2000 attempts to draw unnecessary crop and bleed marks.

MORE INFORMATION

You can safely ignore this error message and proceed with the print job. The publication is printed with all of the necessary crop marks.
