Entering Standby Mode While Connected to the Internet Causes the Computer to Disconnect (263810)

SYMPTOMS

When you are connected to the Internet, and enter Standby Mode, you receive this message:

There is an active Dial-Up Networking connection. Suspending your machine will close the connection. Do you wish to continue?

If you do not respond, Yes is selected after 15 seconds.

In addition, on some computers clicking No causes the computer to disconnect and enter Standby Mode.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, do not enter Standby Mode while you are connected to the Internet.
