If your computer contains an ESS Maestro 2 sound card, your joystick may have a status of "Not Connected" in the Gaming Options tool in Control Panel.
CAUSE
This behavior is caused by the ESS Maestro 2 Windows Driver Model (WDM) driver that is included in Windows Millennium Edition (Me).
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, install the manufacturer's drivers or download the latest driver from the ESS Technology, Inc. Web site:
