The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 for Windows 2000 SP 1

This article was previously published under Q263220

SYMPTOMS

When you install Internet Explorer 5.01 Service Pack 1 (SP1) on Windows 2000, you are not prompted to choose an installation location for the program.

CAUSE

This behavior is caused by a change in Internet Explorer 5.01 Setup to allow installation on Windows 2000. Because Internet Explorer 5.01 only installs the core browser and scripting files on Windows 2000, you are not prompted for an installation path.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
