SYMPTOMS

When you use Device Manager to remove the CardBus controller from the PCMCIA devices, then reinstall the controller, and then attempt to place the computer into hibernation or standby mode, you may receive the following error message:

Your computer cannot hibernate or stand by because the name of cardbus controller cannot enter into a low power state.

WORKAROUND

To work around this issue, restart your computer. This will restore the computer's ability to enter low-power (hibernation or standby) modes.
