SYMPTOMS

The Hibernate tab may not be present in the Power Options tool in Control Panel.

CAUSE

Some computer manufacturers provide a check box for hibernation instead of a Hibernate tab. If neither of these items is present in the Power Options tool, your computer does not support this feature.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

On computers that provide hardware support for hibernation, this support is enabled by default. You can set additional hibernation options on these computers by using the Power Schemes and Advanced tabs in the Power Options tool in Control Panel.
