Start Menu Shortcut For My Network Places Contains Invalid Links (261457)

SYMPTOMS

You may experience any of the following behaviors in Windows Millennium Edition:
  • Placing a shortcut to My Network Places on the Start menu adds a non-functional link on the Start menu.
  • Existing shortcuts in the My Network Places folder are added to the menu as non-functional shortcuts called "target."
  • Any new My Network Place shortcut created using the Add Network Place wizard shows up on this menu as a non-functional shortcut called "target."
When you click on any of these "target" shortcuts, nothing happens.
