Cannot Uninstall Windows Media Player 7 in Windows Millennium Edition (261176)

SUMMARY

Windows Millennium Edition (Me) includes two versions of Media Player:
  • Microsoft Windows Media Player 7
  • Media Player 1.0
Although you can remove Media Player 1.0, you cannot remove Windows Media Player 7.

If you click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, double-click Add/Remove Programs, click the Windows Setup tab, click Multimedia, and then click Details, there is a Media Player check box for adding or removing Media Player. This option adds or removes the Media Player 1.0 component, not Windows Media Player 7. Windows Media Player 7 is not removable.
