SYMPTOMS

On a Windows 98-based computer with user profiles or a network logon enabled, the network logon screen may appear only briefly before the desktop is loaded. When this occurs, all boxes in the logon screen are unavailable. After the desktop is loaded, the Log Off command is available on the Start menu and the logon screen functions normally.

CAUSE

This issue can be caused by installing the CeQuadrat software that is included with the Phillips CD-Writer software.

RESOLUTION

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

To resolve this issue, delete the Show Splash value from the following registry key:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\CeQuadrat\C2UDFFS
