PRB: Error "ActiveX Cannot Create Component" When You Use API Text Viewer to Load a Database (260112)

SYMPTOMS

If you open the API Text Viewer and click Load Database File from the File menu to load a database, or if you try to convert one of the API text documents into a database, you may receive the following error message:
Runtime Error 429 : ActiveX cannot create component

CAUSE

Microsoft eMbedded Visual Basic (eVB) does not install the components that are needed to load the database file or convert a text document into a database.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, install Visual Basic 6.0.

MORE INFORMATION

In eVB, you can still use the API Text Viewer to view the information that is contained in the API text files as well as to insert the API text file into your project.
