BUG: Application Center 2000 NLB Cluster Members Do Not Converge (259592)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Application Center 2000

This article was previously published under Q259592

SYMPTOMS

When you add a Windows 2000 Server that is running Application Center 2000 into a Application Center 2000 Web Cluster that is using network load balancing (NLB), the new member will not converge with the other members of the cluster.

CAUSE

Application Center 2000 replicates NLB configuration (port rules, cluster IP, and so forth) and uses the Windows Management Instrumentation (WMI) provider to reload the changed parameters. The changes don't get applied (which leads to nonconvergence of the cluster).

To work around this problem, open a command line window and run the following commands to reload the parameters and converge the cluster:
  1. wlbs stop
  2. wlbs reload
  3. wlbs start
