This article was previously published under Q259523

SYMPTOMS

When you browse computer names, there is a comment field in the Details view where a computer can contain a description. Computer comments do not show up immediately in the browse list.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs when the changes that are made to the computer's description are not immediately updated on all the master browsers.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, allow time for the master browsers on different segments to update their browse lists.

MORE INFORMATION

The first modification is made to the browse list of the master browser for the segment that the specified computer account is on. Subsequent updates to the remaining master browsers are dependent on the process that is used to update browse lists between master browsers.
