Site Server Web Administrator Stops Responding When You Add a Member (258300)

When you attempt to add a member into an Access membership database, the Site Server Web Administrator program may stop responding if you have a large number of users in your directory.
CAUSE
An Access database is not designed to accommodate a large number of users.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, set up a new directory using SQL Server as the backend datastore, and then migrate the existing members from Access to SQL Server. It is possible to migrate members programmatically using ADSI or OLEDB, but it is not possible to transfer the Access-database schema to SQL Server because the tables are not identical.

An Access database can only be used for development or for proof of concept. It is not recommended to deploy it in a production environment where performance is critical.
