When you attempt to import a Microsoft Excel data file into Microsoft
MapPoint 2001, you may receive the following error message
There was a problem opening filename.
where filename is the name of the Excel data file
that you attempted to import.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the Excel data file contains a worksheet with
a period in the worksheet name.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, rename the worksheet to remove the period from
the worksheet name.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft MapPoint 2001.
