OL98: Moderated Folders Do Not Synchronize While Working Offline (256252)

SYMPTOMS

If you set up a moderated public folder, add it to the Favorites folder, make it available for offline use, post a message to it while you are offline, and then try to synchronize all folders, you may receive the following error message:
Error in Background Synchronizing. See detailed log in Detailed Items Folder
If you look at the log message in the Detailed Items folder, you see that synchronization failed while attempting to synchronize the moderated folder. The log message resembles the following :

15:22:42 Error synchronizing message <test>

15:22:42 		 [80004005-501-0-324]

15:22:42 		 The client operation failed.

The <moderated folder> in the log is the name of the moderated folder to synchronize.

RESOLUTION

A supported fix that corrects this problem is now available from Microsoft, but it has not been fully regression tested and should be applied only to systems experiencing this specific problem.
