PUB2000: EMF Picture Is Unexpectedly Scaled Down When Inserted (256191)

When you insert an Enhanced Metafile (EMF) picture into a publication in Microsoft Publisher 2000, the inserted picture may be unexpectedly scaled down in size.
This behavior does not occur when you insert bitmap (BMP) or Graphics Interchange Format (GIF) pictures.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because Publisher 2000 inserts EMF pictures based on a zoom-specific size instead of using the Microsoft Office Art Frame that other Microsoft Office programs use.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, insert a New Drawing object, and then insert the EMF picture.
When you follow this sequence, you insert the EMF picture into a Microsoft Office Art Frame, and the proper scale for the EMF picture is preserved.
To do this:
- Start Publisher 2000, and then open your publication.
- On the Insert menu, point to Picture, and then click New Drawing.
- On the Insert menu, click Picture from file.
- In the Look in box, browse to the EMF picture that you want to insert.
- Click to select the EMF picture, and then click Insert.
