OL2000: Error Message "Another Workstation Is Accessing the File" When Opening a PST Across the Network (253411)

SYMPTOMS

When you use Outlook on Microsoft Windows NT Terminal Server Edition and try to open a password protected personal folder file (.pst), you receive a message that says another workstation is accessing the file.

WORKAROUND

You can sometimes work around this problem by adding the .pst file to your profile instead of attempting to open the .pst file. To add the .pst file to your profile, on the Tools menu, click Services, and then click Add to add the personal folders file.

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
