OL2000: Cannot Change Low Macro Security Level (249792)

On a locked-down system, the macro security dialog box may always show low security (not recommended) so that you do not receive macro warnings and cannot change the security setting.
CAUSE
An administrator can set keys in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE subtree which overrides the HKEY_CURRENT_USER keys, so that only an administrator can change the settings.
Once any registry key is placed in
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SoftwareMicrosoft\Office\9.0\Security
the macro security defaults to "low" and can not be changed, so you do not receive macro warnings. RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).
