WD2000: 1's or 0's Appear at the End of Table Rows (249304)

Table rows may have the numeral 1 or a zero (0) to the right of them, and you cannot select or delete these numbers.
For example, a Word table may appear similar to the following.

CAUSE
This problem may occur when you use Microsoft Word 2000 to open a Microsoft Word 6.0 for Windows document or a Microsoft Word for Windows 95 document that was edited in Microsoft Word 97 for Windows.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this problem, obtain Microsoft Office 2000 Service Release 1/1a (SR-1/SR-1a).

To temporarily work around this problem, copy everything except the last paragraph mark to a new document. To do this, follow these steps:
- Open the document exhibiting the behavior listed in the "Symptoms" section of this article.
- To select everything except the last paragraph mark in the document, press CTRL+END to move the insertion point to the end of the document. Then press CTRL+SHIFT+HOME to select everything from the end of the document to the start of the document.
- On the Edit menu, click Copy.
- Create a new Word document. To do this, click New on the File menu. Then click Blank Document and click OK.
- In the new blank document, click Paste on the Edit menu.
- On the File menu, click Save. Save your new Word document with a new file name and click OK.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article. This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
