This article was previously published under Q249123 SYMPTOMS
When you print a publication created in Microsoft Publisher 2000 that
contains linked Tagged Image File Format (TIFF) images, the
images may be unexpectedly resized or cropped on the printed output.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs if you resize the linked TIFF images in Publisher
2000.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, use one of the following methods.
Method 1
Open the TIFF images in a graphics editing program, and then resize
them to match the actual size of the images that you want to use in
the publication.
Method 2
If you are not printing the publication as color separations, convert
the linked TIFF images to embedded TIFF images:
- On the Tools menu, point to Commercial Printing
Tools, and then click Graphics Manager.
- Select the linked TIFF image you want to embed from the list
of images, and then click Break Link.
- Click Embed full resolution graphic, and
then click OK.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 for each linked TIFF image.
NOTE: You can use the Measurements toolbar to accurately measure the size of the TIFF image in your document. If you do not see the Measurements toolbar, point to Toolbars on the View menu, and then click Measurements. When you select the TIFF image, its dimensions are displayed in the Measurements toolbar.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
