SUMMARY

Data access pages that you create in the original version of Microsoft Access 2000 have a version number in the codeBase tag. In Access 2000 Service Release 1 (SR-1), the codeBase tag does not have a version number.

MORE INFORMATION

This change was made in Access 2000 SR-1 because when Microsoft Internet Explorer is loading a data access page, it detects the version number in the codeBase tag. It then checks the version of the components on the computer that is loading the page. If the version numbers had not been removed from Access 2000 SR-1 and you tried to open a page that you created in Access 2000 SR-1 on a computer running the original version of Access 2000, Internet Explorer would attempt to load the later versions of the components. Because it would not find the later versions of the components, Internet Explorer would fail and the page would not open.
