SUMMARY

To open a word processor document (.wps) that was created in Microsoft Works 4.x, Microsoft Works 2000, Microsoft Word 2000, or Microsoft Word 97, or a word processor document that was created in Works 2000, Word 2000, or Word 97, in Microsoft Works 4.x, you have to download and install the Wp2krtf.exe text converter.

Note The Wp2krtf.exe text converter is only available for the U.S. version of the programs listed at the beginning of this article. Additionally, you are not able to open a Word 2000 or Word 97 word processor template (.wpt) unless you rename the file with a word processor document extension (.wps).
