In Microsoft Project, when you use the date calendar drop-down control in a dialog box, it may not display the correct year.
For example in the Task Information dialog box, the Start field has a value of 2/1 (representing the date February 1, 2008). When you click the arrow in the Start field, the date calendar drop-down control displays the year 2000 (or the current year), rather than 2008.

In Microsoft Project 2000- The Date format setting uses a format that does not display the year.
NOTE: To view the Date format setting, click Options on the Tools menu, and then click the View tab.
- You are viewing a dialog box such as Task Information or a form view, such as the Resource Form.
- You click a date field that uses the date calendar drop-down control.
NOTE: Date fields that are located in tables, for example the Entry table in the Gantt Chart view, display the correct year in the date calendar drop-down control.

WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use either of the following methods.

Change the date in a table such as the Entry table in the Gantt Chart or Task Sheet view. NOTE: If the date is not accessible in a table, use either of the following methods.
For Microsoft Project 98 or Microsoft Project 2000
Type the appropriate date in month/date/year format, rather then selecting the date with the calendar drop-down control.
Change the date format to display the year. To do this, follow these steps:
