SBS Fax Server Is Unable to Determine Paper Size (245709)

SYMPTOMS

Small Business Server (SBS) 4.5 Fax Server uses Wang Imaging to render incoming documents. It does not check the incoming document's layout to determine if the source document is letter, legal, or some other standard paper size. Legal-size documents are scaled to fit on letter-size paper if the default printer tray contains letter-size paper.

RESOLUTION

To print documents on legal-size paper:
  1. Set up a new printer with the letter-size paper tray disabled. Set the paper source to Auto-select, and set the legal-size paper tray to Enabled.
  2. In the Fax Administrator tool in Control Panel, click the Receive tab. Click to select the Print to check box, and then select the printer you created in step 1.
  3. Click OK to save your settings.
After you follow these steps, all incoming faxes are printed on legal-size paper.
