SYMPTOMS

When you click Search and then click Customize, only two search sites may be available.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if your regional settings are configured to English Canadian. When you try to customize your search sites, you are directed to a Web site that is specific to your chosen regional setting, and the Canadian Web site contains two search sites.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue if you want to use the larger number of search sites available for the English (United States) regional setting, change your regional setting:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Regional Settings.
  2. Click English (United States) on the Regional Settings tab.
  3. Click Apply, and then click Yes to restart your computer.
  4. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet Options.
  5. On the General tab, click Languages.
  6. If "English [United States] [en-us]" is not listed, click Add, and then click English [United States] [en-us].
  7. Move the English [United States] [en-us] entry to the top of the Language list.
  8. Click OK.
