Err Msg: Some of the Required Support Libraries Are Not Present on this System (245577)

SYMPTOMS

When you are running the Sysprep tool, you may receive the following error message:
Some of the required support libraries are not present on this system. This program cannot be run on this system.

CAUSE

This issue can occur for any of the following reasons:
  • The Setupcl.exe file is not located in the same folder as the Sysprep.exe file.
  • The Windows 2000 path does not contain the folder where the Setupcl.exe file is located.
  • The Setupcl.exe file is damaged.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, extract the Setupcl.exe file from the Support\Tools folder on the Windows 2000 CD-ROM into the %SystemRoot%\System32 folder.
  1. Insert the Windows 2000 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, browse to the \Support\Tools folder using Windows Explorer, and then double-click the Deploy.cab.
  2. Right-click the Setupcl.exe file, and then click Extract.
  3. Type the folder where you want to extract the file, and then click OK.
