PPT97: Status Online Template Displays or Prints a Semicircle on Page (245189)

SYMPTOMS

If you open or use the Project Status (Online) template that is included with PowerPoint 97, a thin, black, semicircular line may be printed on the left side of each slide, toward the center, on every page except the title page. This line only prints when you print the presentation in black and white.

In addition, if you click Black and White on the View menu, this semicircle is displayed on the screen.

CAUSE

This semicircle is on the master slide and only appears in Black and White view or when printing to a black and white printer.

WORKAROUND

  1. On the View menu, click Black and White.
  2. On the View menu, point to Master, and then click Slide Master.
  3. Click to select the semicircle, and then press DELETE.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft PowerPoint 97.
