SBS 4.5 Console Displays Strange Characters (245173)

SYMPTOMS

Standard icons on BackOffice Small Business Server Console may be displayed as strange characters and symbols. For example, the Home page may be displayed as 'Ie' in the lower-left corner.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if the Glyph100.ttf and Glyph110.ttf fonts have been deleted or moved from the Fonts folder.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, follow these steps:

  2. Close Small Business Server Console.
  3. Insert the Small Business Server 4.5 Disc 3 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
  4. Open Windows Explorer and browse to the \SBSAdmin\I386\Admin\Components folder on the CD-ROM.
  5. Copy the Glyph100.ttf and Glyph110.ttf files to the \WINNT.SBS\Fonts folder on the Small Business Server disk.
