To determine whether Active Accessibility is installed on a Windows 95- or Windows 98-based computer, check the System directory for the Oleacc.dll file. For Microsoft Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 4 (SP4) and later, check for the Oleacc.dll file in the System32 directory. If this file is not found, Active Accessibility is not installed.

For Active Accessibility version 1.2 and later, use the GetOleaccVersionInfo function to programmatically determine which version of the Software Development Kit (SDK) is installed on a computer. Please consult the documentation in MSDN for more information on how to use the GetOleaccVersionInfo function.

For earlier versions of Active Accessibility, use the GetFileVersionInfo function to extract the version information from the Oleacc.dll file.
