"OK" Error Installing 128-Bit Dial-Up Networking (243837)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install 128-Bit Dial-Up Networking for Windows 98 Second Edition (Msdun128.exe), you may receive the following dialog box that contains only the text "OK" with an OK button:
128 bit encryption for Windows 98 Second Edition (Not for Export)

CAUSE

This problem can occur if you try to install 128-Bit Dial-Up Networking for Windows 98 Second Edition on a Microsoft Windows Me/98/95-based computer. 128-Bit Dial-Up Networking for Windows 98 Second Edition can only be installed on Windows 98 Second Edition-based computers.

RESOLUTION

To install 128-bit Dial-Up Networking for Windows 98/95, download and install the appropriate installation package from the following Microsoft Web site: NOTE: This component is currently not available, but will be re-released shortly. Please check back soon for information on the availability of the Dial-Up Networking 128-bit update.
