VIZACT: "Installer Error 2613" When You Install Vizact 2000 (243666)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to install Vizact 2000, you may receive the following error message
Installer Error 2613
and you are not able to install Vizact on your computer.

CAUSE

You receive this error message only if the following two conditions are true:
  1. Your computer has a version of Windows Installer that is later than version 1.0.
  2. The Vizact CD that you have is version 1.00.0720.
NOTE: This behavior does not occur with the Vizact international release, version 1.00.0805.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this behavior, download and then run Vztrans.exe.

Microsoft scanned this file for viruses. Microsoft used the most current virus-detection software that was available on the date that the file was posted. The file is stored on security-enhanced servers that help to prevent any unauthorized changes to the file.

To resolve the "Installer Error 2613" error message that you receive during installation, follow these steps:
  1. Insert the Vizact CD into your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
  2. If the CD starts automatically, the installation will begin. If this occurs, click Cancel.
  3. Close any programs that you may have open.
  4. Locate and double-click the Vztrans.exe file to begin the installation process.
  5. When you are prompted for the location to install from, select your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then click OK.
  6. Continue with the installation as you typically would.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
