SYMPTOMS

When you insert the Membership Attribute Design-Time Control (DTC) into your Active Server Page (ASP) and attempt to use the ValidationString property for input validation, you may find that there is no documentation on how to use this property.

CAUSE

This property was never implemented in the final released version of Microsoft Site Server.

WORKAROUND

To provide input validation beyond what is in the Graphical User Interface (GUI) property sheet, you must provide a custom code solution.
