XFOR: Creating More Than 1000 Instant Messaging Virtual Servers Results in Server Instability (242219)

SYMPTOMS

In Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Beta 3, if you create more than 1000 Instant Messaging virtual servers, various problems may arise. Some of these problems may include failed virtual server creation and client requests that time out before completing the process.

WORKAROUND

Limit the number of Instant Messaging virtual servers you create to under 1000 virtual servers.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server Beta 3.
