SUMMARY

Two scripts have been created to address performance issues that occur when you run the Windows Address Book (WAB) in a SQL Server 7.0 environment. These scripts are distributed as part of Site Server 3.0 Service Pack 3 and are located in the \Site Server Install Dir\SP3\Scripts directory (after you install the service pack).

You must run the Instwab7.sql script on the LDAP data server after upgrading to SQL Server 7.0. If SQL Server 7.0 is uninstalled and SQL Server 6.5 is re-implemented, you need to run Remwab7.sql against the LDAP data server. To do this, follow the procedures outlined in the "More Information" section of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

To update the LDAP servers and SQL Server directory stores, do the following:
  1. Run Instwab7.sql or Remwab7.sql located in the \Site Server Install Dir\SP3\Scripts directory against every SQL Server database supporting an SP3 LDAP service instance that was created prior to the installation of SP3. You can run the script either before or after the installation of the service pack; however you must run the script before restarting the LDAP service after the service pack is installed on the LDAP servers.

If SP3 is installed prior to the creation of the LDAP service instance, then Instwab7.sql or Remwab7.sql does not need to be run against that SQL Server LDAP database.
  2. Install Site Server 3.0 SP3 on all LDAP servers.
