Small Business Server 4.5 Console Shows Services Are Not Started After Server Is Restarted (240977)

SYMPTOMS

When you restart a computer running Small Business Server (SBS), you may see a service status alert on the console's main page stating that one or more services are not running.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if the console is started before the system finishes starting all services.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, wait for five minutes after you log on to the server and then press F5 to refresh the main page of the console.

MORE INFORMATION

The console is updated in SBS 4.5 so you can easily determine what services are not started on the computer. Because it can take some time for all services to start, services that are not started by the time the console is started may be indicated as not running.
