OL98: Error Message "You cannot use an Internet address here." Using Insert File in a Message (240218)

SYMPTOMS

In a new e-mail message, if you click File on the Insert menu, and then type an Internet address in the File Name box, you will receive the following message:
You cannot use an Internet address here. Enter a path that points to a location on your computer or on the network.

CAUSE

The File command on the Insert menu, does not support using Internet addresses, such as those using FTP or HTTP.

RESOLUTION

If you are attempting to send a file from an FTP site, download the file to your hard disk drive first, and then insert the file from your hard disk drive into the message by clicking File on the Insert menu.

If you are attempting to send an HTML page in Microsoft Internet Explorer, on the File menu, point to Send, and then click either Page by E-mail, or Link by E-mail.
