Works Suite 2000: Word 2000 Tasks Are Saved Without TaskID After Reinstalling Word 97 (239994)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Works Suite 2000

This article was previously published under Q239994

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Microsoft Works 2000 Task Launcher to create a Microsoft Word document, and you use a Word template from the Programs tab, the template name does not appear in the Task column of the History tab ("Unavailable" appears instead). However, the task starts correctly from the History tab.

When you create and save a new Word template, the template name appears under Personal Templates on the Tasks tab. When you use a personal Word template to create a document, the template name does not appear in the Task column of the History tab (here, too, "Unavailable" appears). The task starts correctly from the History tab.

-or-

When you launch a Word task from the Task Launcher, a blank Word 97 document with no template wizard may appear instead of the correct Works Suite 2000 template.
