Works 2000: Writing Styles Not Available (239374)

SYMPTOMS

When you are using Works Word Processor and you click Options on the Tools menu, the Writing style box is not available (grayed out).

The Writing style box was previously available to you.

CAUSE

This problem occurs when a foreign language version of Word 2000 is installed on your computer after you have installed Works 2000.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, reinstall Works 2000. To reinstall Works 2000, follow these steps:
  1. Insert the Works 2000 CD.
  2. Click Start on the Windows taskbar.
  3. Click Run.
  4. Type Drive:\Setup.exe in the Open box, where Drive is your CD drive.
  5. Click OK.
  6. On the Welcome back screen, click Next.
  7. On the Options screen, click Reinstall.
  8. Click Next, and then follow the instructions to complete the installation.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Works 2000.
