Works 2000: Word AutoShapes Do Not Appear As Expected When Imported (239357)

When you import a Microsoft Word document into Microsoft Works 2000 Word Processor, and the Word document contains one or more AutoShapes, one of the following behaviors may occur:
- If the AutoShape contains text, and there is no text above the AutoShape in the Word document, the AutoShape is imported but it appears as a rectangular text box. The text box appears at the top of the Works 2000 Word Processor document regardless of the original position of the AutoShape in the Word document.
-or-If the AutoShape contains text and there is text above the AutoShape in the Word document, the AutoShape is imported but it appears as a rectangular text box. The text box appears immediately below the text above it regardless of the original position of the AutoShape in the Word document.
-or-If the AutoShape contains no text, it does not appear in any form in the Works 2000 Word Processor document.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur because Works 2000 Word Processor does not support AutoShapes.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Works 2000.
