Works Suite 2000: Text Formatting Is Lost in the Header When You Open an RTF Document (239332)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Works 2000
- Microsoft Works Suite 2000
This article was previously published under Q239332 SYMPTOMS
When you open a Rich Text Format (RTF) document in Microsoft Word that was created with the Microsoft Works 2000 Word Processor, and the document contains a header or footer, the text formatting of the header or footer is lost and the header or footer text appears in the default text format.
The same behavior occurs under either of the following conditions:
- The header or footer text is formatted in the header or footer.
- The header or footer text is formatted in the text body and then copied into the header or footer.
The same document opens as expected in Works 2000 Word Processor.
A similar document created with Word, not with Works 2000, opens as expected in Word or Works 2000 Word Processor.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because the Word text converter does not open the header or footer text correctly.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Works Suite 2000.
