STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

MORE INFORMATION

The error message you receive (as specified in the "Symptoms" section of this article) depends on the type of image contained in the document.

If the image is a Joint Photographic Expert Group (*.jpeg or *.jpg) file, you may experience the first set of symptoms described in the "Symptoms" section of this article.

If the image is one of the other standard image file types, such as a bitmap (.bmp) file, Tagged Image File Format (*.tf) file, or Graphics Interchange Format (*.gif) file, you may receive the second set of symptoms described in the "Symptoms" section of this article.

In the second set of symptoms specified in the "Symptoms" section of this article, when you click Yes, the file is saved. When you open the file in WordPerfect, however, a blank space is displayed in place of the image. If you click on the blank space, image handles are activated as if the image is present, yet the image is not visible. Additionally, when you open the original document in Works Word Processor, the image is displayed properly in that document.
